Tuesday - Anticipation guide debate based on essential questions for the unit. DO NOW after debate. Watch CrashCourse YouTube on the 1950s/Civil Rights Movement. Discuss time period and how it will shape the story. Wednesday/Thursday - DO NOW on setting of the play. Spatial/visual activity where the students create their interpretation of the play's opening scene. Look at similarities and differences between the students' interpretations. Exit slip on the Youngers living in such tight quarters. Friday - Read background information on Lorraine Hansberry and answer questions in the packet. Students will hang up their drawing from yesterday. Gallery walk at the end. HW - Finish packet for Monday.
