Tuesday - Selected passge from Alas, Babylon. Look at a map of the United States and the effects after the bombs have been dropped in the book. Students will label/color the map of the effected areas and write a detailed paragraph about where they would go and why. Movie, if time. Wednesday/Thursday - VOCAB QUIZ! Review reading questions from assigned chatpers. Character analysis of Randy at this point in the book - how has he changed? Continue reading. Movie, if time. Friday - Comparing the "luxuries" of our own lives to that of Randy's. What would you miss the most if you were in the book? Looking into the sayings, "survival of the fittest" and "man must adapt to survive." Which characters/events exemplify these sayings from the book? Partner work.
