HW - Pages 37-80 due on 2/1 with completed questions. Tuesday - Comparing our way of life to Santiago and Manolin. What similarities do we have? How about our differences? Go back to page 17 and have a discussion on what qualities are found in a hero or someone that we look up to. Write down in our journals and then discuss. Pass out the vocabulary words. Vocab work time. Read as a class. Wednesday/Thursday - Read for the first 15 minutes of class. Possible quiz on the reading tomorrow? Characterization activity for Santiago and Manolin. Students will go up to the board and write down the similarities and differences, as well as quotes for support. Continue reading and studying vocabulary. Friday - Quiz on pages 37-80??? DO NOW: Create a timeline of the eight most important events within the book so far. Share out. Pass out final reading questions, which will be due with the end of the book on Friday 2/8.
