Monday - Rough draft of expository essay due. Peer edit with a partner. Final drafts are due tomorrow at the start of class.
HW - Final draft of expository essay due tomorrow. Tuesday - Distribute vocabulary packet. Explain associative tool list. Give students time to get started with the packet and their lists. Review Act I questions in groups. If there is time remaining, we will watch parts of Act I. Pass out Act II questions and vocabulary words. HW - Keep working with vocabulary packet and read. Wednesday - NO CLASS Thursday - We will look at the role hysteria plays in the story. Prezi on hysteria and excerpts from the book. Students will read an article on hysteria in upstate New York and a discussion will ensue. Watch the movie to the end of Act II. HW - Read the rest of Act II. Friday - Classes are shortened due to the professional development day. We will go over Act II questions in groups. Any questions on Acts I & II and vocabulary will be answered. Begin reading Act III as a class. HW - Review vocabulary. Act III, with questions, due on Thursday. Monday - Review New York Times. Pre-reading worksheet for The Crucible.
