Monday - Read together as a class. We will assign out parts and continue on with the play. After reading, we will hold a class discussion on the various parts of the play that we just read. Were conflicts intensified? Did any of our symbols come back up? After discussing, we will watch the film.
Tuesday - Finish reading Act II of the play. Students will act out the play in the room to get a better sense of how chaotic the scene really is. Once we have finished Act II, the students will get into small groups and complete Act II reading questions. These questions will be homework if they are not completed in class. Continue with the film. Wednesday/Thursday - The first 20 minutes of class will be devoted to starting and reading Act III. After reading for twenty minutes, the students will write a short journal entry from Helen's point of view. What does she think about Annie and the situation in the garden house? Share out journals. Catch up with the motion picture. Friday - The play will be finished by Monday, so we will try to get as far as we can during today's class. We will try to finish in class, but whatever is leftover will be for homework. Act III questions will help students comprehend what is going on at the end. Start reviewing for the test, which will begin next Tuesday.
